James Construction proudly employs a union labor force on all of its projects. The work force is managed by experienced project superintendents who have been with the firm between 22 and 40 years. The four current owners of the company are directly involved in all of the projects, and have worked for James Construction between 27 and 39 years.
The company was founded in 1937 by Alexander Potash in Oakland (Bergen County), NJ. It has operated continuously since, and is now run by third and fourth generation family members. Projects are generally contracted through construction management firms for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients in northern and central New Jersey.
